Project Overview

The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) is an independent trust agency of the Ministry of Labour in Ontario, Canada responsible for administering compensation and no-fault insurance for Ontario workplaces. The WSIB Reference Library provides information and research services for WSIB employees.
This project is to redesign the WSIB Reference Library website with a new design, new layout, and new content to provide better communication with and better services to the employees, and engage employees and encourage them to use electronic sources rather than paper products.

My Phases

  1. Review current website
  2. Conduct user assessment
  3. Create a customer journey map
  4. Review external website
  5. Review inner sites
  6. Integration of catalogue
  7. Build prototype

Customer Journey Map

By interviewing WSIB employees, we included a total 15 participants in the user assessment. Based on the user assessment results, I created a customer journey map is created that indicates actions, needs and thoughts that users had during different steps of conducting research by using physical or online library services.

Lesson Learned

  • Using Customer Journey Map as a tool to visualize the results of user assessment
  • Individual UX project, worked with real client and project
  • Effectively communication with supervisor and IT team to meet design requirement
